Looks like its spun a bearing.
Will do more tests next week but not looking good.

Dont have the time anymore to fix and not gonna throw my wallet at a mechanic. Could be the end.

Knowing how hard it was to get parts for my engine i would do a modern engine transplant before recoing the old, a 2JZ or 4AGZE for road going or LS1 if you want to have fun on the track with it.
Hope it works out mate

maybe speak to our cousin across the sea about the ease of a rotary swap too...
otherwise there are some audi motors I believe share the same bellhousing pattern...

I have Euro NA engine that got rebuilt few thousand km's ago from my red turbocharged 924 if you are interested?

Could as well install that with all the turbo stuff and get 250+ hp

Shipping would not be a problem, a week ago I sent a BMW M3 S50B32 (completely built to handle 800+ hp) engine to Africa on the pallet. Shipping cost was ~450 euros.

Hi Ozzie
Id have to get $2.5k for it, it owes me a lot more. I was planning on keeping it as a spare engine but compared to the one I got now its a bit slow!

Regarding freight, shop around with some of the smaller carriers or ask any local businesses if they have a freight account.

Ran the car today to do some tests.
The blowby is noticeable now where as before it had a slight vacuum.
Oil is leaking out the crank pulley.

The noise is noticable under fast revving but not there if the revs are allowed to build up slowly.

Very noticeable under load, accelerating but not at idle.
Timing light says all ok.

Runs like crap at idle and had to adjust idle to get back to normal revs. Still lumpy though.

Will have to do a compression test.
Anyone else got any ideas?

Sounds like a head gasket and possible valve issue, pull the head and have a poke around

Ozzie what's the oil pressure gauge doing?
if there's low oil reading then the bearing is most likely,
dropping the crossmember and taking off the oil pan if you have a pit or hoist would be an idea but if you are doing it off ramps or stands a real PITA as that's what I did.

So tracing the oil at the front is it coming out the crank seal or at the oil pump/OPRV,
I'd stop reving though until you sort the pressure situation though.

pressure was good last i looked.
when i parked it last it was 4 bar at 2k rpm.
didnt check it today.
oil is coming from pulley seal.

sound is deceptive but seems from the top of 3 or 4

If the heag gaskets gone, there could well be undue crank case pressure causing oil to be forced passed the seal
