I picked up a second car at an auction a while ago. Trying to get it to run cheaply, but reliably. The fuel pump is dead for sure and I have a couple simple questions!

1) Does anyone know the specifications on the fuel pump for an 1980 924 (N/A CIS)? Pressure/volume/flow/voltage/ECT

2) Are there alternatives to buying the Porsche pump at $194? EG: A cheap way to replace it?

3) Wiring. I've got a black/green striped cable and a pinkish cable for wiring. Which is positive and negative? (the one on my car has been replaced in the past and the haynes manual's diagrams are insanely confusing).

Cheers!

Each of these questions easily answered by using the forum's SEARCH feature.

Thanks Mad! That is definitely the correct one!

I've been here since 2000, previous account got murdered while I was overseas due to inactivity. SEARCH is only as good as the subject lines, which frankly suck. In fact, this thread is in the top 5 results.

Input "fuel pump alternative" and check the box labelled "search for all terms."

The Walbro 604 pump flow side banjo fitting does not fit the fuel line on either of my cars (a 1979 and a 1980). However, the Walbro 608 pump appears to include both fittings.

Dan and I are working to sort this out and will let you guys shortly!
