Since the shitty blower motors for the 931's are NLA I have been thinking of how to upgrade/ replace it. I have 2 different ideas. Just spit ballin' here so no bad ideas...

Modify the existing housing to accept this from SPAL. The diameter is the same as the Porsche fan at 6.5". Shouldn't be too hard to make a few brackets to mount it. The original top closer flap in the Darth Vader box would also still be able to operate which is nice :

Or I could cut the top off of the original box and make an adapter plate to mount 2 of these blowers back to back (would look like a beta mag from an AR). Drawback is the Darth box would be gone and therefore would have no way to close the airflow :

Ideas ?

Take the old one to an oldschool electronics repair shop and have them rebuild it with modern materials and it will probably perform awesomely?

Naw, it would cost waaaay to much money. Besides, this is N. America the land of disposable shit. Probably couldn't find anyone to rebuild this ancient crap.
