|
|
Well, since I bought my '87 924s back in the fall I have spent most of my time getting it in running order. Now that it is running like a 25 year old classic, its time to start doing some mods to make make it more uniqe and my own.
So, first I wanted some kind of windshield graphics, but not the standard PORSCHE decal seen on most. Here is what I now have across the top of my windshield.
Next, I finally found what seems to be the "Holy Grail" for a 25 year old Porsche. I had the Porsche rear "filler" panel reflector that goes between the tail lights. I wanted the lighted panel and in searching for that, I found this rare beauty, and it was NOS, never used and complete even with mounting hardware & original instructions.
So it has started, I am slowly going to put my personal touches on my car over the next few weeks. |

| I personally hate that conversion and am glad my car doesn't have it. But to each his own. |

Not trying to start anything, but can we go back the rule of thumb that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. If he likes the modifications, good for him...no need to rain on his parade. If we want to keep people around this wonderful community, I don't think we need to be insulting something that they took their own time to do, and which they did a good job doing.

Please keep posting picks of your mods. Perhaps we can all learn something from the things that you are doing!
Cheers-

THANKS Ian. I am used to "haters" in the car world. The last car I had fun with was a 2003 Taurus wagon daily driver that in 2 years took 24 show trophies. Talk about haters, when a Taurus wagon beats out mustangs, Camaros & Corvettes, the haters come out by the dozens until trophy time.
I have some other ideas that I will be working on in the next few weeks just to make the car a little more uniqe.
I have learned a lot about the mechanics of my little Porsche on this forum, I hope my detailing & mod ideas inspire some others. |

Go for it ! its your car Personally I like the infill pannel on US cars, the bumper rubbers work well to resite the plate. Looks a bit odd on Euro cars cos the plate tends to end up looking like an afterthought .
My own 30 year old (last month) 924 has had so many tweaks in the 17 years I have owned it I cant even remember some of them!
Keep up the good work _________________ 1983 N/A
