My glovebox is locked and the keys that came with the car won't open it!
Should the ignition key work, should I keep trying with that?
Or should there be another key?
Any suggestions how I might get it open without doing too much damage?
Cheers! _________________ Nigel Walker |

If I'm not mistaken, the door keys are different from the ignition.
You should be able to take the hatch lock out and have someone make a key for it.
And hopefully the glove box is keyed the same as the doors.... _________________ I got nothin'

I'm not that familiar with early cars, but the late cars have a certain key that can only unlock the glove box. The ignition key can unlock everything else.

As above, the glovebox key is unique to that lock. They are also used on early VW's. _________________ 1984 n/a Ruby Red Metallic
