My CGT/937 doeesn't have an oxygen sensor, is that normal?
I can't even find mention of an O2 sensor in the 924petcatalogue!
Somewhat puzzled.
Anybody shed some light on these two issues?
Thanks _________________ Nigel Walker |

I dont think the CGT ever was sold officially in the US, which in turn means that the engine looks lite it should, no lambda control whould be there, no cat aswell. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Thanks, good point. Doesn't answer the lack of the O2 sensor in the petcatalogue but not an issue for me if my car shouldn't have one.

The oxygen sensor is part #911 606 123 00, depicted on illustrations 202-00 (for the NA) and 202-10 (for the 931) of the USA version of PET.
The funny thing is that the NA illustration in the ROW version of PET is identical (or nearly so) to the USA illustration, and both depict the sensor (call out 33); however, the ROW version only has part number listings for call outs 1-20 (I presume the rest are North American-specific parts and therefore only listed in the USA version of PET).
Interestingly, the 931 illustrations are different; the ROW version shows the cat-less exhaust including the wastegate dump that attaches directly to the primary exhaust pipe, while the USA version shows the more complex system with cat and intermediate dump pipe. The O2 sensor is depicted in the USA version (call out 11) but not in the ROW version.
And Cédric is correct, CGTs were not commercially imported to North America, so they do not have the Lambda system (including O2 sensor). Of the 406 CGTs, 6 were prototypes, 200 as LHD delivered to Europe, 75 as RHD delivered to the UK, and the remaining 125 as LHD delivered to other European markets. It's possible that one of these 125 were delivered to other non-North American markets outside of Europe, but I have found no documentation of it. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Thanks for a really comprehensive reply.
Regarding the other 125 CGT's, my car was supplied to the Porche dealers in Panama direct from the factory.
Also, I have read somewhere that 15 were delivered to Australia, certainly CGT's have been advertised in Oz in the last few years. Possibly more than 75 RHD cars were built.
