My sun roof has got missing somehow and I've been thinking about replacements. I'm not even sure where I'd find a replacement for it, though I have considered having one made.. From glass(?). Seems like it would be really heavy and possibly unstable because it would have to be so big, but it would be pretty cool. Anyone have any thoughts?

I believe they are all the same dimension from the 924 to the 944, just the configuration of the mountings are different (manual versus power) I could be wrong, so hopefully someone can verify this.

Personally? I would grab one from a local who's parting a 924 and focus on more important issues. Rasta might even know someone that has one available from a 944 cup build. BTW, there's two 924's in the Pick-N-Pull on Columbia:

If you're dead set on building one, I might make it out of scratch resistant plastic to keep it light and easy to mold (they aren't completely flat btw) TAP Plastics could probably help you with picking the proper plastic for the project.

Also, you can occasionally find the Saratoga glass roofs that were made for the 924 and 944's from time to time for about $3-500. I've heard reports that in the summer they can be pretty miserable unless they are tinted heavily.

Huh, interesting stuff. I wasn't planning on doing anything about it soon, it was just something to think about. Heck, it could be laying in the garage somewhere for all I know.
