on the 1988 that I "bought" today for $500, the following numbers are found

1. By Windshield pillar - WP0AA0925JN450785

2. By Firewall - WP0ZZZ92ZJN450785

3. On Valve Cover - 944.105.260.6R

It is a 5 speed.

What did I buy ?

Are the parts worth anything....the engine, gearbox, shaft and differential are all there

Thanks

There should be a sticker/tag in the trunk or front wheel well area that lists the option codes for the car.

If the car was originally black then it might be an SE which came with the M030 suspension option, about 500 of those were built.

Otherwise it is probably a "normal" 924S which is essentially a 944 drivetrain in a 924 body/interior and worth a few grand running and driving.

Post some pictures and look for the option code and we'll better be able to tell you what you've got.

Are you parting? I would be interested in the short block, dependent on the condition of the bores.
