I am wondering if the blocks are the same for a turbo and an N/A? _________________ Porsche 924 1977 N/A

Pretty close, enough to be fairly swappable, yes... but not identical. _________________ Vaughan Scott

What's the difference? Other than the number stamped into the block? _________________ 78 924 NA

Not necessarily.......very early NA blocks had different sized crank thrust bearing, so not interchangeable with later models. All later (post 1978 ) blocks are near as damnit interchangeable. _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |

They're interchangeable if you take block from 78-79 upwards than it can be used to build 931 engine. Mine block comes from n/a and I didn't noticed any changes other than breather output which is different but can be changed easily. So if you want to use 924 n/a block to build 931 engine all should be fine and without any problems (only that 76 blocks had another crank diameter so watch for that). _________________ 931 82' - 5000km after full engine rebuild
