whats up 924board? I am a new user to the site and also very new to the porsche realm.
I have been doing research for weeks now and feel like i have tried a lot, so know I turn to the experts.
as of right now I have two big issues that I cant seem to solve on my 1981 924 turbo 5 speed
1. I can not get power to my fuel pump! I tried jumping 30 to 87b and nothing but when I take my battery directly up to it i feel it turn on.
2. when my clutch pedal is depressed it stays on the floor till I pop it up, Im going to buy a master and slave but i have no idea how to bleed both.

something I should mention is that the car sat for 6 years untouched and I have been cleaning grounds like crazy. I have the car cranking over but not starting.

thank you,
Jeffrey

1). Did you check the grounds between the taillights in the rear? That's where the pump grounds and you can have weird issues. Also, did you bypass the pressure sensor in the intake? Read the 931 resurrection thread in the 931 section for more info on this.

2) buy/build a pressure bleeder and replace the parts. I would flush the brake fluid first, then do the clutch hydraulics. Make sure to bench bleed the master cylinder first and replace the hose from the reservoir to the clutch MC.

Hopefully the admin will move this to the 931 section as the 924S is a 944 in narrow guise and not a 924 turbo.

Stop trying to fire the car until you have replaced the timing belt.

Oh, yeah. That ^ too.

Bent valves suck, plus you can fix the potentially leaking vacuum hoses that run behind the timing belt and replace the water pump.

Also pull the fuel tank exit line (the large fitting with strainer or primary pump). If the car sat that long its likely that you have a volume of thick tar like evaporated gas in the botom of the tank that will need to be cleaned before you sludge up the fuel pump.
