Just came into a 1987 924S so am working on a few items to see if everything is working correctly.

I regards to the A/C, as the head pressure increases, I am thinking there should be a swith that cuts the fans on to bring the pressure back down. I cannot locate a switch for this on the car or in the schematics that I have. In my case, the pressure continues to rise until the compressor shuts off. There is a swith next to the dryer and when we unplug it, the compressor will shut off. Other than that, we are a bit lost in where to look at what to look for.

Any help would be appreciated.

The secondary fan should always run whenever the a/c is switched on.

The switch you are unplugging is the low pressure cutoff. It is there to protect the compressor from running without oil.

The fans should kick on anytime the A/C switch is in any position except off.

Thanks for the info. I think I have figured out that both fans should be running full speed when the AC is turned on. In my case, the passenger side fan does not come on when the AC in the on position so I am in the process of trying to figure out why. Both fans will come on but only with water temperature.
