Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice which may help me work out how I managed to kill my car this evening.
The car was running perfectly up until I decided to try and fit an MSD ignition system. I got the MSD system working by jumping the fuel pump pins on the relay as I didn't have a tach adaptor. Although the MSD system worked, the engine was running very rich and I couldn't lean it off without it stumbling. I therefore decided to refit the original system. After re-fitting the original CDI unit however, the car now doesn't want to start? I triple checked all of the connections to make sure that it was wired up correctly but still can't get the car to run.
I am not sure how I could have damaged the CDI unit as it was completely disconnected when I fitted the MSD system.
The only original wiring used with the MSD system connected was the fuel pump relay with terminals 30 and 87 jumped, the red MSD ignition wire was hooked up to terminal 15 of the fuel pump relay, and the MSD tach wire was connected to the green and black wires originally connected to the negative side of the coil.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
