Since I'm pulling the dash(might as well repair that while out) to get to the heater core, Ive got the console out and checked the shifter linkage. As normal the linkage is worn, I might as well fix that while its apart.
First question is how does the shift lever come out if I have to replace the pin?
Second question is where to get the plastic bushings per the deitersport repair in the how to section. The bushing #999-924-002-40 are like $1.50 each, shipping will be probably $15. Sunset Porsche? Dan? Hopefully the bushings will fit a 10mm replacement bolt. _________________ Mike

The plastic ball-socket bushing under the saddle that attaches to the torque tube is readily available, as are the four plastic bushings that go on the pin on the lever itself. I can get all of those for you on-demand, just shoot me an email when you're ready. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I took ithe shift lever apart and the thru shaft is very badly worn. So I ordered both the small bushings and the pivot ball bushing from Sunset who had them in stock. If the bushingws fit on a 10mm bolt I'll use the shaft replacement with a bolt from the How TO section. If not then I'll start fabricating with hardward store bushing and bolts. Last option is obviously a new shift lever. _________________ Mike
