Something odd has started happening to my DD: Sometimes when I flip on the directionals, the turn signal light on the speedometer turns on and stays on, while the turn signals themselves don't do anything. It's an intermittent problem. I tried adjusting all the relays and fuses, and it remains on and off. Any ideas?

EDIT: I should note this is the 1977 924.

Check your exterior bulbs. In particular, since it seems an intermittent problem, check the grounds and clean the sockets too.

Exterior bulbs are fine. When one gets a corroded connection, it just blinks fast. When you turn the stalk for left or right, the turn light turns on (no blinking) and nothing happens to the exterior lights. The only thing I can think of is that the old relay is going bad, like the fuel pump one did last year.
As a side note, who knew that fuel pump relays were so expensive?! Well, I got mine for $60, but after I got mine they bumped the price to $90 or so! I guess it's not so cost efficient to make old electronics any more, eh?

Ordered a new relay. However.....

I messed around with the relays today AKA pulling them out and feeling the wires on the back of the board. Through the fumbling with the wires in the back I got the turn signal to work again - for a time. Later when it stopped working again, I reached up behind the relay board to feel the wires and burned my hand!
So, since I have that new relay coming in, we'll see if maybe the relay is fudging this up, or if I just need to pull the board out, clean all connections, and make sure there is no shorts in the back.
