So far I have spent more money on this damn car than I could ever hope to get out of it. I've neglected my other projects for almost two years and have yet to drive it any further than to one shop or another. I need to get rid of it, but I keep thinking I'm getting close to making it run. Since I've had it I replaced the battery, done a valve job, replaced the plugs, wires, timing belt and put in new injectors, all to no avail. I have had the fuel distributer sent off and rebuilt, cleaned the gas tank, cleaned the fuel lines and replaced the fuel filter. the vacuum lines have been checked and the rubber boots on the intake were replaced. I changed the auxilliary air valve, and rebuilt the air sensor unit. The oxygen sensor has been replaced. I also rebuilt the wur. After all this the car still doesn't run.
The last trick was that it has no system pressure and the plunger in my new fuel distributor sticks open. I gues there is nothing to do but send the fuel dist off and hope the warrenty is going to cover what ever is wrong with it. If I could sell it, it would be gone in a flash.

If they weren't a project they'd be called something else.

It is really really easy to give up on a project when you're close. Sometimes it feels like just one simple thing making it so complex is enough to say, "SCREW IT! I'm sick of it!"

There were times I wanted to take a sledge to my 944 when I owned it.

I have essentially built an entirely different fuel system for my car, rebuilt the engine, replaced the brakes and suspension and completely sorted through mine and it is still not running. But i'm very close.

Think of how good it'll feel when it is finished.

I really know what you are saying. I've been envolved in building my Nissan for about 8 years now qnd sometimes I can almost visualize that I might get it finished.
I guess what is most frustrating about the Antichrist is that it makes me technically nuts. (I keep doing the same things over and over and hope for a different outcome) Everyone on here has been really helpful and encouraging, but I am really sick of coming here and sniveling because I don't have a clue what to try next. I've been building cars since I was 16, and now I'm 67. This is the first car I haven't been able to even try to run.

Before you send it off, unscrew the fuel pressure regulator. Make sure the rebuilders put o-rings on it, and the correct size. And it's spring loaded, make sure there's a spring there as well.
