anyone ever seen it done?
my friend has a lead on a dirt cheap 924 body and a garage full of Rotary Turbos.
he hasnt had a chance to see the engine bay, and neither have I, but I was told that there is a lower subframe that may cause us some grief...

I have not seen it done, but it should not be too hard given that the 924 engine bay is relatively clean. If you can get your hands on a MIG welder, a chop saw, and some scrap steel you should be able to build an appropriate crossmember in an afternoon.
Is your friends 924 an older or newer one? Keep in mind that the 924s (modern) is significantly heavier than the old 924; heavy enough to suck some life out of rotary, which doesn't have much lowend torque.

the earlier the better as far as weight is concerned. The series 1 RX7 was rated at 1050kg down here.
Porsche give the weight of the non-US '78 model year 924 at 1080kg and the '79 - '85 at 1130kg (1185kg for the US version). |
