|
|
I've been researching the turbo on my car and I can't seem to find the right map for it anywhere (I don't think). It's an '82 with a red tag that reads:
k26
r16633
53269706407
It appears from what I've read here that this is the same as a 2664 turbo. I then found this map for a 2664 but I'm not sure if this is the right one, it seems too big and efficient for the one on my car. I also may not be reading this map right as I went to summer school for math and never really improved.
Thanks,

You have a standard 2664 S1 compressor. I am not aware of a compressor map that is specific to the S1 931 setup, which is what you need in order to determine where the "lug line" for whatever turbine you plan to run will map onto the compressor chart.
Just to show you the difference, here is another 2664 GA map that is dramatically different from the one above:

The second map was from the Audi K26 Turbo with the MC designated engine, still 5 Cylinder 10 Valve Turbo. Is was considered to be the larger of the two 2664 GA compressors and the exhaust Turbine 6.95. Audi part number 035 145 703L, K** # 5326 970 6411 _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

OK, so there isn't a known map.
I was trying to read and understand "maximum boost" again, and was looking to see how efficient this turbo is at 12-14psi. I am assuming that if the factory used the same turbo with low (US) boost that it gets maxed out near 1 bar.
I'm still planning to add a progressive WI setup and crank boost up a bit to around 12 psi. I was trying to figure out how much extra heat I'm dumping into the engine with the increased boost.

Either one is fairly good at 12-14psi and adequate for 200hp. The Porsche 2664 canīt be far off. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Cool, thanks. I'd like to see around 200 hp on this puppy with minimal expense and good reliability. When the WI goes in I plan to dyno it to see what happens. _________________ 1982 931- Stock with MBC at 8psi
