hey all, new guy here.
I picked up a 79 last week.
41k on the odometer, overall not bad.
So far I have done this to it:
KYB gas shocks all around
new ball joints
wires, plugs, cap, rotor
fuel and air filters
front control arm bushings*
front sway bar bushings*
tightened up the shifter inside the car, need to drop tranny to do the linkage proper though
So, as you can see, I have done quite alot to her since I brought it home. Bought it 300 miles from me, replaced the front shocks and ball joints to make the trip(drove it home)
The star indicates a half done job, i only did the driver side today, after replacing the rear shocks. ill attack the passenger side tomorrow.
I have a few questions, that maybe can be answered:
Proper way, and where to get cheap bushings for the shift linkage(dog leg 5spd).
Also: I do not have the wind deflector that springs up when the roof panel is detached. Is there any way I can mickey mouse something together, as I can only find the plastic hinges for it, and nothing else.
Also:
A big hello to all! I used to be a vw scirocco nerd, hence the s/n. Figured my first venture into porsche, id start with something still familiar to me. _________________ 1979 924

I greatly enjoy 944online, but you'll find the toofah fanatics here know these cars like the back of their hands. We have some very dedicated and hardcore fanatics here for the toofah. Every time I have a toofah related question, I can look years and years back and learn something new, and usually in very large and well written threads. _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)
