I am looking for brake pins, cross springs and clips for my 924.
It looks to have early 944 disks all round and the pins are about 75mm apart.
Let us just say this 924 looks more like a 944 now!
The question is :- Does anyone know of another vehicle I could acquire these from?
I am having big problems sourcing any and my brake pads are rattling about in the calipers due to lack of any cross springs.
Your help would be much appreciated.

I am kinda hoping to sort this out before the weekend!!!
So ordering parts isn't really an option.
I am just trying to find something to stop my rattle.

The pins and springs are actually pretty important as they locate and retain the pads in the proper place in the caliper. I personally would not operate the car without them. As Ideola mentioned, they are available. They would come from early 944, 924, maybe mid-70s 911, maybe cross to VW but IDK about this last one. Or you could go to a breaker and see if they have an old 944 or something you can remove a set of front calipers from and get the retaining pins/spring clips that way.
Good luck! |
