Hi,

Does anybody know if you can disconnect the flexible plastic pipes from the metal tubing that are used from the fuel distributor to the injectors, or are they machine fitted want to fit a pressure gauge in between.

Thanks

If you're referring to the Nitrile lines that connect to the barb fittings, I would strongly recommend against tampering with the stock fuel lines. Besides, that's not where you should be installing a pressure gauge anyway.

What purpose do you have in mind for installing a pressure gauge??? How familiar are you with CIS? You do understand that the fuel is under very high pressure, right? You can't just stick any old fuel pressure gauge in there...

No you can't split the lines, unless you are having new lines custom made. As Dan says, you don't measure pressure there anyway. Once you establish the control pressures from cold to hot and you have the correct system pressure, then the only thing you measure after the fuel distributor is the fuel volume through the injectors.

Fitting a pressure gauge in the injector line would accomplish nothing except introduce another potential area for fuel leaks. If you use the correct gauge kit ( like Dan sells) and follow the correct test procedure then CIS is very easy to trouble shoot, it is just massively different to any electronic fuel injection.

Bruce.

Thanks a lot for the info and the link, a great bit of test gear Just a thought if possible to put the gauge in line from the solenoid to the WUR

Thanks anyway
