Was reassembling the head and tried screwing in the orange fuel injector bungs that I got from Autohausz/?? and had them to not fit etc. After panic and some searching on the board I found that this was normal. Thinking mine might be ruined I called the local Carquest auto parts to see if they could get any.
They ordered some for me, I got six as they were only $0.67 each figuring I would scrap a couple. They came in, black in color with a VW part number made by World Auto Parts(undoubtedly China) and to my surprise were a nice snug when trial installed. I found some of the O-ring seals and a fuel injector and trial fit it all and everything was snug and tight. So I disassembled, put some non-hardening Permatex #2 on the threads and installed them. I measured one and found the threads approximately .020 inches smaller than the Bosch/? ones that won't fit which matches how other folks described modifying other bungs. The only difference I found were some plastic protrusions from the injection molding machine on the bottom/non-sealing face. I them off with a utility knife.
Hopefully they will work well and this might help someone else. _________________ Mike
