|
|
Hi Gang.
Just got my first 924.
1982 model.
Car runs outstanding cold, smooth idle and runs outstanding until very hot. like half hour or so or longer. Then the following occurs:
When you take off in 1st it surges like its going to die until it gets up past a few grand rpm...then its fine.
If it dies, which it will usually do. It restarts immediately RE-STARTING IS NOT A PROBLE . At idle its fine. When u set out it runs rough to the point of either stalling or if you can get it up past a few grand rpm it will run ok. There is some slight back firing as well during these issues.
I replaced the WUR and nothing happened.
It runs so well cold and even warm that im afraid to dig any deeper without some useful ideas???? _________________ 2001 BMW 330cic

Take the car to a shop who understands K-jetronic (CIS) and have them set the base CO level and then report back. _________________ 3 928s, |

Actually, if it takes that long for a problem to show up, I'm going to guess that it's probably not mixture. I'd actually wonder if perhaps an electrical component is heat-soaking - which makes more sense to me given the time required to induce failure - and this is hurting the running condition.
That in mind, I'd be thinking about checking/replacing on the ignition side... what hasn't been replaced there? In particular the ign. coil, or perhaps coil wiring in poor condition. _________________ Vaughan Scott
