So I have a 78 924 four speed that acquired some time ago and recently did some chump car events. Now I am looking at doing some upgrades and wanting to find out if it is worth while or not. I eventually want to end up with a Carrera GT look alike for DE events and just cruising the highways. I have a chance to purchase a 924 turbo S that was a track car but has spent many years siting in the desert sun with no hood on. everything rubber will need to be replaced. The owner who built it says it has 180hp to the ground but needs engine work. He said the fuel injection will need to be redone along with a new fuel pump. He mentioned that getting fuel injectors may be difficult. So here is my list of Questions
1. will the later trans bolt into my car?
2. will the newer suspension bolt up front and rear? I have drums on the rear currently, with four lug pattern
3. I have heard that the where and how the motor mounts are different from the older car to the newer and will require the newer ones to be welded in, true? At a later time the turbo motor would be rebuilt depending on parts available for this motor or a motor would be purchased and installed.

My thoughts for transferring the parts to my car is that mine runs now and I can enjoy the upgrades. Later if need be i can switch them back to the newer car if I go that route. This is a project that I know and intend to do over time. As for as the Carrera look a like that will happen later and a little at a time. Thanks for your time, help, and advice.

Mark

Ok so I read the sticky forum on the suspension, so my big question is will the trans from a 924 turbo s work in my 78 na as far as gearing? Will the torque tube and bell housing have to changed also? Is there a write up on this somewhere?
