What is the best way to do install the block breather???

For reference: 931.107.063.00

When I installed the one on the freshly-built Club Sport motor, I banged it up pretty good trying to use a large socket to smack it in. The fitment is very snug (I know, that's what she said), so I can't think of a better way to install it.

Suggestions???

Dan, it's a fairly good interfeance fit, just work around the lip with a large flat blade screwdriver tapping it in, the lip is fairly rigid,
I did this in situ with the old car, and put the edge nearest the engine mount arm in first to get it fairly seated first.

I think I'd put it in the freezer, and maybe even heat the area of the block where it fits, though the freezer would be my first choice. And lube the interface on the block. Not sure how effective it would be with this type of part, put it is worth a try at making the installation a bit easier.

I ended up putting assembly lube around the rim of it, then used a rubber mallet to get it semi-seated, sort of on one side, then used a large flat blade screw driver placed on the lip and smacked that on the other end with a hammer to get it fully seated all the way around.

Flat blade screwdriver, work inbetween the lip and the block and pry it off, careful not to drop anytjing into the hole after you get the beather off,
