I come from the VW world where Robert Bentley manuals are a must have, but I havent seen anyone mention those, just a Haynes... is that really the Bible for 931s? _________________ 25% of my cars work 75% of the time |

There are Factory Service Manuals from Porsche, expect to pay around $150-200.... _________________ Stefan

There is a Clymer's manual that I used to like, that was a good supplement to the Haynes. If you have an S2, make sure to get the later edition of the Clymer. _________________ "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you are goin' all the way."

the best repair manual is: a bit of experience with the wrenches + this board + the IQ of the guy doing the repair + haynes for what you forget going from the PC to the garage _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Be very careful with the Haynes...make sure you get the latest revision (should only be an issue if you're buying used)...and then, you still need to be aware that it does not cover many of the nuances with the 1981-onward 931 (S2). One salient example is that torque specifications listed in Haynes are notoriously wrong, and there are many torque specs that are very different for the 931. I *never* rely on the Haynes for such critical detail as I have no idea what can be trusted. There really is no substitute for the Factory Service Manuals, Supplements, and this forum. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
