I did this on my 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport last night. Although our 924s are too old for this (at least most of them) I figured I'd share this for anyone interested. I plan on creating a more formal tutorial but this is what I've got so far.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

overall i think it looks very good but you have a little room to improve. the transition is not perfect but defiantly workable.

try sanding your edges smoother. you may also be able to carefully paint the "bezel" with plasticoat. it may make it blend better.

I had one of these in my last truck to monitor transmission and head temperature. it now resides in my fusion. i dont need it but i figured i had it

i used a blendmount to mount it in both vehicles. it doesnt look oem but it does look very clean.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, there is definitely room for improvement. This is the first time I've cut up the interior of a newer car so I am very please with the results. Once I construct a better mounting system, I might look at refining the transition points. There is a little bit of a texture to the top surface so I was hesitant to mark it up too much - but the plasticoat suggestion could help there - thanks again.
