Hey fellas,

I'm working on suping up my audio system, I found a pretty legit 4x6 rear set of speakers made by Alpine that I'm planning on purchasing. However, I can't find a good brand of 3x5 speakers for the front. If anyone has already taken on this task I'd love to know what you've got in your cars. Also, on a separate note, can anyone tell me if this (http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/ida-x305/default) will fit?

Thanks!

Drizz

i have a pair of pioneer 3x5 in the front, i dont have any rears and the 2 are just fine for me. They were not that expensive, maybe 40-60$ they have held up great for the past 2 years. I am quite an audiophile (I ran a recording studio for some time). Ill admit they are not ADAM monitors but they do the job for driving.

I think they are the older model of these

They do the job and the sound good.

Best Of Luck

I just bought cheapy Dual illuminites from Wal-mart for tweeters, 4" (for where the 3x5s went), and 6x9s in the trunk. Also stuffed a VR3 powered sub in the back too. Leagues ahead of the factory setup, but lacking behind modern vehicles.

I'd say go for it, if they'll fit in the space without modification. However, it's generally believed that coaxial speakers never produce as good of sound as their circular counterparts. I did put 4" speakers in the 3x5 factory spot, but this did require removing a small amount of metal from the body internally to allow it to fit.

Oh, and I also recommend putting something like Dynamat in the car to quiet things down. Won't matter how fancy your sound system is if you can't hear it.
