Looking for a new muffler for my 1982 931. The current exhaust which appears to be original is loud and drones in the car since the tailpipe has rusted off flush with the muffler, dumping the exhaust right beneath the hatch area. I would like a OEM type, quiet muffler if possible. It has been suggested in this thread

http://tinyurl.com/3ncz29n

that a 951 cat back will fit. Has anyone ever done this or can confirm this?

The OEM part numbers in PET (there are 3 numbers, 93111105005/6/7 and the price listed on pelican for them appear to be only a few dollars short of the part number.

Are there any reasonable bolt on options out there, or should I try to source a local fabricator?

Thanks,
Kevin

Mid Island Auto wreckers has an '82 931 engine, they might have the cat back exhaust still.

Nah, anyone can do it! Just use car-part.com; there are more wreckers in your area as well.
