What is the internal diameter of the rubber fuel line running across the top of the engine? ('87 924S)

Some time in the murky mist of the land of the previous owner(s), the fuel line running across the intake manifold has been spliced. Don't know why or when, but it was that way when I bought it. I was a noobie back then, and it was quite need; I thought it was normal.

Last weekend I moved the car to my rear driveway, and smelled fresh gas...and I quickly found that the intake was getting a gasoline bath from the splice.

I need to get the car running so I can back to work now that I am deemed ready to go back.

The previous spice was created using a shell case after a hacksawed removal of the primer end. The bullet end easily accepts the brass tube, not so the other end, which has finally split open.

I want to splice in a short piece of copper or steel.

Yikes.

I wouldn't splice in anything. I'd buy good new parts to install; high-pressure fuel leaks make 944/924S flambe.

There was a factory recall on this, BTW...

Get the Rennbay kit, replace pressure and return lines, as well as the "jumper" if it looks old or cracked.
