Anyone had one of these little tanks stop sealing well? I can't really get the lid tight, and it is starting to spit coolant.

Weird thing is, I got it from EBS years ago, and thought at the time it was an OEM part (stamped with 931 part number), but now I'm wondering if it is a knock off. It never really fit that well in the holder. . .

Are you referring to the version with the screw-on 911-style cap? Replaced the cap recently?

FWIW, the holding mechanism for those tanks are really lame. Any chance your bracket is bent? They're made from flimsy sheet metal and I've had to tweak mine to get them to hold the OEM unit securely. Although I've since converted all but one of my 931s over to the 944 style tank...

The cap came with the tank. Looking at the threads on both, it appears that it is the tank threads that are losing their grip.

I thought about ditching it for a 44 setup, but I'm using the bracket as a relay mount. . .

I modified the bracket for my CS project to make room for the '44 tank. Not sure where your relay is, but here's a photo. It was a piece of cake to trim, debur, and repaint...

Hmm. . .still running a fat and a skinny line to that thing? Was is necessary to cut the bracket, or could you have squeezed it in there with the bracket intact?

If you want to secure the bottom portion of the '44 tank with a screw thru the inner fender, you will need to modify the bracket, although perhaps not as aggressively as I did. For me, the whole upper portion was superfluous so I just cut it straight off along the bottom edge. The only reason I retained it at all was to preserve the stock mounting arrangement for the air-oil separator, which annoyingly requires both parts to be stable and functional.
