I was asked to post pics of how my timing was set. So now that I finally figureds out how to post here they are.

I checked the fuel pump output and it is @1500 cc/30sec the fuel delivery pressure is well within the range set in the manual I'm going to check and see if the WUV is opening, and then make sure the injectors are spraying correctly. I keep asking, but haven't gotten an answer as to whether the cqr lacking a fuel accumulator would cause these problems _________________ If you're gonna be stupid, you gotta be tough.

The second picture indicates, to me, that the rotor is not pointing to the number one plug wire. It should point to a notch cut in the metal portion of the distributor so when the cap is installed the number one plug wire is above the notch.

That could be. the Haynes book says: "Align the line on the rotor with the scribed mark on the distributor housing."
Of course that is the Haynes manual, and I don't have a lot of faith in their information. _________________ If you're gonna be stupid, you gotta be tough.

Dennis is right. You're about one gear off/behind time on that rotor. Easiest fix is to pop the distributor off and advance it that one tooth... Well, it LOOKS like one tooth from here. _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |

where is your flywheel mark and oil pump pulley marks when the cam is TDC?
No accumulator would cause fluctuations in your fuel pressure and be a bitch to start when hot. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

There is a mark on the dist housing, about 1/16 from the electric plug. I'll pull the dist, and move it to the notch where the cap fits. The mark on the oil pump pulley, and the flywheel are exactly on the pointers where they should be. I replaced the injectors, but I'm going to pull them and take them to be checked.
Thanks for the information on the accumulator, and tips on the timing,
