As I am in the process of rebuilding a 1982 931 I noticed that the 944 oil pan has a quite extensive oil baffle scheme where the 924 does not. Has anyone done anything to improve the 924 oil pan other than the crank scrapers. I notice that Lindsey Racing has a kit to add a flapper door to the 944 pan as well as extending the oil pickup lower in the pan. Seems like some of these mods would trickle down to the 924 world. The 944 pickup seems much less restrictive than the 924 one as well.

The baffling in the stock 924 oil pan is actually quite good, IMO - certainly compared to most stock pans. Mainly it just doesn't have the sort of built-in (almost) windage tray that the 944 has.

We don't have any oil pressure issues, unless you want to count too-high pressure! Just a question of controlling oil flow in those long left-handers - which is where the crank scraper does a wonderful job, since it functions as a baffle as well.

Plus it's only $50 in its cheapest configuration...

P.S
Do not forget to drill / cut an access hole for the oil dip stick.
It does say this in the installation guide from I.J but is a gotcha as there are no provisions for this in the design.
