Four speeding fines in ten years of driving unlucky for me they all happened within the same three year period, I have two options
1- good behavior for a year ie only allowed one demerit point fir a year and if I go over I lose my license for six months
2- three months suspended license then all points back but no legal driving for three months. Getting caught driving on suspended license will be an extra month to six months suspension and up to $4000 fine

What would you guys do??
Ps not after the moral police, lesson has already been learnt !

tought call....is there not a way to reduce the 3 months to 1.5 ? here we have this thing where if you loose your licence for say 3 months you can get a licence exam again and if you pass the 3 months turn into 1.5.

They wernt minor offences then.Bite the bullet except the 3 months and use public transport.Going by what your saying 1 point wont last you long, so twelve months is out of the question. And if you drive without a licence and you get court you will deserve every thing that happens to you.Learn to obey the rules it will save you heaps in the long run.

READ- NOT AFTER THE MORAL POLICE, LESSON HAS BEEN LEARNT

FYI- 73km/hr in a 60 zone four times in 10 years is in my books 4 MINOR offences.

-no DUI..
-no racing/hooning..
-no 30 +km over(immediate suspension)..
-not a single accident in 10 years....

Im sure youve hit 73 or so in a 60 zone more then 4 times in ten years if not then you should be made a Saint

Thanks Morghen unfortunately theyre very strict here, if i could i would, this was the only time i got pulled over though, the other times were fixed speed cameras (they hide behind trees here and at the bottom of hills) ..mmm 1.5 months would be good..ide just pop over to europe for a 1.5 month holiday

strict laws in that big-ass desert continent of yours...

here, if you get caught doing 50 over the speed limit you get 3 months off...with the possibility to get re-examined and pass for 1.5.

i love Romania..its so free...you guys have no ideea what freedome is

Now, they've tigthened the things here a bit with some new mobile camera radars that get you on film from 800m away but they only have a few of them and you can still do 200+ in some places. Some guy just got caught with 253

Have u recieved ure letter in the mail yet? My friend have lost his last demiret point here and is still driving around. They havent pulled him over in the last 3 months and if they do , he could just say he havent recieved any letter to say hes not allowed to legally drive around anymore.

How is the trains/bus transport for you guys on that side? Here in perth we got a service which is called transperth. You can get anywhere with little or no trouble at all. If its the same for you guys over there , il pick to lose my license for 3 months and get all my points back. 12 Months is a little hard with only 1 demirit. Im still a P plater and in the last year and five months i havent lost any.

On the otherhand , from the 1st december theres going to be only 3 demirets for L drivers and only 4 for P-Platers . This is in WA dont know about your side.

The transport system is ok , unfortunately my work takes me everywhere and my car is needed, if I were crazy enough to drive while suspended it wouldn't be in my car, random license plate checking would bring up
Suspended
Driver my biggest reason for not wanting a year is my 924 will be ready soon and I'm sure it will be a police
Magnet even though I've done my best to keep all mods legal, any defect is a point :s haven't received the letter yet as I have twenty eight days to pay before they send a letter. It won't register as lost points until I pay

Geez...Scorp...it's a no-brainer! Twelve months and one demerit point - buy a pushie and fit a cruise control on ya car.

You points are removed every 3 years with a total of 12 demerit points allowed over 3 years .13 to 20 ks over will cost you 3 points and $200 fine .1 to 12ks over will cost 1 point and $133 fine. The fact you where court within a twelve months window of a previous similar offence means double demerit, double fines. Argueing you only had 4 fines in 10 years is BS more like 4 fines in 2 years. The length you had your licence is of no consequence is just a holler argument .Dont like the rules dont play the game is my advice. And for the record Ive had one fine in 21 years (48 in 40 zone)

'Slaps forehead' I don't even know why I bother with a reply. Thanks for the demerit point lesson , but looks as though your facts are totally outdated.I'm sure they were correct in the nineties when you got your fine. Quick math lesson 4 fines each at 3 points = 12 points all happened within a 3 year window before any points could be wiped ( after 3 years on your license). As for double demerit points google will help you here , hint speeding under 20km hr won't get you there..Congratulations on your one point in twenty something years great achievement now please take your 5 noob posts over to the " holy'erthanthough" forum and leave space for my 924 buddies to talk me through my options , not tell me I shouldn't have been speeding, I already know this

Which fine did u get last? one with the Camera? I know a guy here which won like 5 court cases by asking for the calibration test on the camera. Apperently the cops skip those test because it cost alot of money. And they need to get the camera calibrated evry year?

If I have a point left for a year. I'd drive. You know the consequences so you'll change your habits for self preservation.

Life is a gamble, so bet on yourself , the odds are in your favour if you know the game.

With a bit of good luck you'll not land in a speed trap and if you do, you wont be speeding.

Go for it !!

Well....this advice is highly illegal....but....

Go down and tell them you lost your licence and get a replacement. Then surrender your licence for 3 months. Drive very carefully until the suspension period is over. If you get stopped in a roadblock etc......you can still produce a licence. To get around the random plate check........can you drive someone elses car......maybe buy a beater and register in in your girlfriends/wifes name?

This is very risky and illegal......so weigh your options, but this is what I did when I was younger and driving for a living.

Another option is to drive a mini van...cops never check them for speeding. My daily driver is a Toyota Previa AWD.
