Ok guys, now that ive been driving the car around for a while as it has not run in what, 15 years, its time to get it running properly.

Now its running fairly well most of the time, it is pretty rich and blows out a small cloud of dark smoke if revved high. Now here is the odd part, its also getting to the 3/4 mark if driven normally after about 8 miles or so, if i stop in traffic, the car cools down, it only seems to happen when its being driven. If I drive it hard, then it gets HOT quickly.

Randomly it chokes up and takes about 8-9s before there is any throttle response and the car is struggling not to cut out, this happens more after a 30s drive at about 2500rpm, and even faster after a 4200rpm butst, but also happens in traffic occasionally.

Ive tried leaning it out but it gets hot much faster.

I pulled the injectors today and they are all spraying a nice clean pattern and are not dripping. I checked the coldstart and that isnt leaky either and blows out one heck of a mist when cranking and does turn off after a few seconds. When the car is hot, it starts in a heartbeat. When its cold, it takes about 10s of cranking to get it started.

Seeing how rich the car is running, shouldnt it be running cold? After leaning it out, it gets too hot. All injectors are in order, what would you suggest trying next?

I also noticed a blackish residue on the stem of the injectors and also on the bottom side of the injector seals. A compression test was done in the past and all checked out on that side.

Radiator is new, fan switch is new as is the temp sender and the fan is functioning, there is no sign of foam or oil in the cooler tank.. The pre-pump filter and the pre cis filter just got changed this week, but the old ones showed no signs of any dirt or restriction. Oh, and obviously now the exhausts are a dark black color from how rich its been running.
