OK now that I have all the parts, how do the tie rod assemblies get assembled? I got OCAP tie rod assemblies PN 477 419 803 B from Autohausz. I also got some of the rubber bushings. The difference between the original tie rods and the new ones is a reduced diameter where it screws onto the rack. It appears that the bushing may be able to be pushed onto the reduced diameter tie rod with the steel collar pointing toward the rack. Then the bushing would run into the rack housing at full lock rather than the steel end of the old assembly. The various parts diagrams have really not been much help.

I'm going to rephrase this. The new tie rod assemblies need to have the steering rack stop rings from later model cars. I have these rubber covered stop rings, the question is how do they fit? Are they pressed onto the tie rod assembly or do the fit in the rack?

Thanks for any help.
