Sloppy shifter? I dont see sense in spending hard cash on a whole new rod when the problem is usually just the pin sticking out the side.
I removed my shift lever and cut the pin off the side and ground the shift bar flush on both sides.
Then using a drill press I bored a 10mm hole.
I obtained a 10mm bolt from a local hardware store that had half of its length unthreaded, along with a nut. I cut the head off, but first measured how much I needed. I bottomed the nut on the bolt to take the measurement so I knew when the bolt was installed in the shift lever, the nut could be torqued without binding the shift linkage. Turned out be be about 1" plus the thickness of the shift lever.
Then I dressed the cut end of the bolt with a bevel to make a good strong weld.
After inserting the pin into the shift lever, welding, cutting off excess threads,
and a glob of graphite lube it was ready for install.
