But which way does a 924 engine turn?
I imagine there's a tried-and-true, everyone-knows-how-to-figure-it-out method that every car mechanic knows, a method so common and ordinary that the Haynes book neglects to make this information clear... Well, I don't know it.
I'm okay at dynamic visualization, though, so from the way the drive-train is diagrammed, I when you're sitting in the driver's seat, the engine appears to turn clockwise.
Am I right?

Looking at the front of the engine the rotation is Clockwise. _________________ 3 928s, |

Looking back at it from the front of the car, rotation is clockwise.
From the drivers' seat facing forward, it counter-clockwise [anti-clockwise]. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

I'll remember that: that's direction that makes sense for the timing belt!

Speaking of timing belt and engine rotation: Make sure to only go clock-wise when turning the engine by hand to check the line-up of the timing dots. If you go backwards to line up the dots, even just a little bit, the slack can come off of the timing belt and give you false readings. _________________ '80 924 Turbo - SOLD!

Um, that's kinda the reason I wanted to know, actually!
