Hi,
by way of introduction, my mother gave our son a 1987 924S, with 66K miles, She was the original owner and hadn't driven it in about 2 years.

We are in the process of replacing fuel pumps and filters but I can't get the Fuel fuse out.

How do I access it? Our auxillary fuses are so tight against the main fuse box we can't get it out of the steel frame.

I also have an 87 924s and currently have the dash out. The main fusebox is hung on brackets and held with a sheetmetal screw. It is so close to where your foot is on the clutch that it gets kicked a lot. It sounds like it is kicked up and to the rear of the car which would be about right for what I am thinking happened. You have to push up to engage the slot and the to the front of the car to get it to drop back where it belongs.

Has a very good shop manual and message board and the early 944 stuff mostly applies to the 924s also.

Don't forget to replace your timing belt before starting/driving the car.

conners924,

You have great trust in your son.
quote, "1987 924S for 15th bday!"

He must have studied and worked hard for this gift.

His friends will be the devils to watch out for. Tears will be in your mothers heart when her pristine 924S with 66K miles comes home with the front fender against the wheel and prayers her grandson is not hurt.

Distraction, temptation, and provocation.

GL
John
