I am thinking of buying a gold plateing kit to plate some parts of the 924.

Can anyone reccommend any electroplating kits ?

I have seen them up to $1500 here in Oz down to $200 on Ebay.

Been looking at Caswell kits myself.
Cheap enough to not hurt as much if it doesnt turn out.

probably good enough for small items.
I believe the chemicals also have a shelf like of only months so buying large amounts is not good economics.

yes, seen most.
basically it is using electrolysis to bond a thin film of gold to metals.
needs a power source, and chemicals.
Larger items need a larger power source for immersion etc.

for chrome bits you need stripper and activator as well and I think they are just common household chemicals.
(baking soda is one IIRC)

Actually uses caustic soda and hydrocloric acid.
