Hi guys,

Has anyone had a go at redoing their dashes in real or fake suede?

They seem to look pretty good to me in new sports cars. I also like the fact that it wouldn't be freaken shiny like the velour is.

I came across this company that makes them in a 924 size for $45 US.

If you have done so, could you post a pic so I can see what it looks like?

Thanks!

Same price for a 968. $100 for both, this might have Christmas gift to myself written all over it (if they're any good).

I was all excited until I saw that it was just a cover and and not a recover. I may buy one to try out, it can't be any worse than the crappy plastic things that are available now.

My friend has one of these on his Honda S2000.......he loves it......it's very nicely done and fits well and is of a very good quality and it would look better thana cracked dash......but I just don't see the appeal.

If you like the idea, then you will be very happy.....I plan to get my dash restored.

Its just that a cover for your dash. I picked one up
off a bone yard find a couple years ago, guys. Its
brown & bristly like a 3 day healthy beard growth.

Doesn't have "Welcome" written on it by any chance, Joes924Racer?

I'm with the others, can't be any worse than what's in most 924's at the moment (unless you have the $$$'s to do a full resto., of course). But pseudo-suede doesn't really suit the other surfaces of the toofah interior...

Unless you get the microsuede shift knob, steering wheel, and seats done in the same materials/color it would look a little out of place. Just the dash alone I would agree, but if it's all done up, I would LOVE to have it.

If someone has a picture of the actual 924 unit from this company, I would love to see it.

Agreed...but does it matter? The idea behind a suede-like surface is to cut glare, and if there were any place to do something like that, the dash is it...

Agreed, no, it probably doesn't. Especially if;

And perhaps add the door sills to that list.

Something like this-ish;

Apparently you can get stuff embroidered on the passenger's side of the dash mat.

What's your funniest idea?
