Today I bought a 1998 mint condition BUICK Le Sabre. Gasp ! Air ! I need Air !
It was far too good to pass up and I yielded to temptation and sinned mightily. I'm doing a 10,000 mile business trip in 4 weeks and this will be my drive instead of the Bimmer 318. The 924 was never considered.
Yeah the 7500 miles a year (145000KM) on the clock had something to do with it. The near perfect paint and interior pushed me along. The new rubber and Aluminuim wheels contributed. BUT the silence and the great sound system and nice cushioned seats, the AC, and the 205 HP with a 4 speed overdrive tranny with gran touring suspension all played a part.
Is there any hope for me ? The reviews said it was a car for old farts and I quailify there. How do I get redemption now ? Can I be saved ? Is there any hope ? _________________ '78 924 NA with Collector plate

I spent all day at a car show sitting with my friends from the Jaguar Club.....they scoff and scrorned and teased me
about my 928 GT the whole day........it was like WW2 all over again.
I told them the only reason I brought my Porsche was the guarantee them a ride home when their Jaguars all broke down.....
...that went over well with all of them.
As for the Buick Le Sabre........Buicks are quite the status symbol in China.....so that means there's over 1 billion people on this
planet that are very impressed with your purchase. _________________ 1981 931 (Canadian car)

Did the Buick come with the old man style compass? You know the one...it suctions to the dash and is a golf ball looking compass floating in water? I made the mistake of buying a 2004 Ford Taurus back in 04 and my family got me a compass like that as a joke for xmas. _________________ Michael

I just drove it 590 miles through the mountains. It's a lot like the 924, once the suspension is loaded and stops leaning you can pound it through the curves.
I hate to admit it, but I liked it ! It doesn't have brakes like our Bimmer but otherwise no complaints.
It's a quantum leap from the 924. Same with the gas mileage. So I guess my transcontinental both ways in Sept will be comfortable. _________________ '78 924 NA with Collector plate
