|
|
So I'm looking at buying a 924 but I'm worried about the lurching problem it has. It starts up fine but when it's going down the road apparently it starts to lurch after a minute or two. I think it may be a gear problem but I'm not sure.
Any ideas would be extremely helpful |

Could be fuel delivery or ignition related.
Can you tell us what year 924 you're looking at?
How old is the gas in the tank?
When was the fuel filter last changed?
How are the fuel lines under the car?
Any idea on the age of the fuel pump?
What condition does the wiring under the hood look like?
How about the fuse panel and under-dash wiring? _________________ Stefan

My car does the same thing. After a year of daily driving, still alive.
I've tried multiple things, changing the timing, changing the plug wires, checking the egr valve, nothing. It has to be an electrical problem, but where? _________________ 1977 Porsche 924 - sold

| its an 89, fuel filter replaced not too long ago, fuel pump has been looked at and there are no apparent issues, all parts original except for new fuel filter and new injectors not too long ago. As well as a new exhaust system if that makes any difference |

Wow! An '89? Talk about rare.

Do you have an issue with sudden spasms of your right leg?
No? Never mind, then. |

yeah sorry 78 mistype on the date. So what should be the first things i look for as to whats causing the problem? I've looked up all the troubleshooting info i can but nothing pertains to a lurching issue after you get it on the road _________________ Go big or go home |

Lean running. Check system and control pressures, and check WUR function. If pressures are good, adjust mixture. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Ok so what would be the best way to go about testing those pressures? _________________ Go big or go home |

There's some dude on the Board who sells the appropriate pressure test kit for CIS, but his name is slipping my mind ATM. . .
Maybe he'll reply to your inquiry. _________________ Toofah King Bad

how much would it cost for said kit? If there's an easier way to go about testing for the problem i would rather do that seeing as this is a first car and i would prefer to not put all of every paycheck into it _________________ Go big or go home |
