I've got a set of 16x7 d90's coming in and i'm trying to decide between 205/55 and 225/50 all around on the car however i'm not sure that the 225s would clear up front. I'm trying to avoid staggered sizes. Anyone successfully run them without rubbing? i'd be running direzzas..
Any help is appreciated. _________________ 1987 924s |

I run 245/45 in the rear on 16x8, and 225/50 in the front on 16x7s. Watch your camber, I had mine rub on the springs when cornering. Still dinking with the camber........................ _________________ '83 944 Track car.

I ahve 205/55 on a 6 inch D90 up front, and with the stock springs I can barely get my fingertip between the tire and spring.
Not a problem any more, tho!

Awesome, thanks everyone! I'm going to go for it on the 225's all around. I just got my wheels in today, so its off to start polishing the lips and repainting the center of the wheel. Now i just have to decide gunmetal or bronze. _________________ 1987 924s |

225/55/16 rub on full lock
225/50/16 don't
however, 225/45/16 don't feel as heavy at low speed
255/50/16 on rear. Gives taller gearing. Not as good acceleration but faster speeds at lower revs plus, 32mpg _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)

I checked out the fenders on the Turbo that I have on jackstands right now with the wheels off and they've been scuffed and lost paint on the top of the inner front fenders. The tires on it right now are 225/50 R16s. Maybe I need new shocks? _________________ 1977 Porsche 924 - sold

Your shocks may be ok, but id bet that your bumpstops are pretty soft. Koni sells stiffer ones ("competition") that should help prevent that. Of course if you go that far to replace those you might as well do the struts while your at it. _________________ 1987 924s |
