Morning guys,
My apologies if I missed a thread somewhere but after searching google and these boards I have turned nothing (and I mean absolute zero) on the 924 wiper motor. I have the 924 Manual, and after testing the wires, and removing the motor I have found it needs to be replaced. Around here (Corvallis, Or) there is only one place that has the ability to order a new motor and it will be the upwards of 275 shipped to my door. Normally I wouldn't hesitate to just order the part and get it over with, however in a matter of months (under 7 to my 924 will no longer have this engine in it, and since thats the case I'd rather not shell out almost 300 bucks on a motor just to turn around and rip it out. (I realize thats being picky but I'm not made of money and already the plan is going to cost me right around 15,000.)
So, my question for ya'll is: Does anyone know a good way to rewire (or disassemble and reassemble) the wiper motor so it will work again? Even if you can just link me a diagram I've missed somewhere that'd be a ton of help.
Thanks,
William |

Your right normally an engine change wouldn't effect the wiper motor at all, but we're not swapping for another slant 4 (matter of fact currently the only parts of this 924 that will remain are the frame, and body. Yes even the wiring is going.), as time progresses and everything lines out I'll be posting out what we're putting in to her, how we modified everything, and how it preforms. (Can't ruin the surprise now can we? ) Even so the wiper motor could stay, its just more beneficial (at this point) to go ahead and update the motor with the rest of the modifications. |

Hey vamp, welcome to the bored. Yeah, definitely just get a used one, should be one around here somewhere.
You could do like I did when I had a '79 LTD II, wipers went out, I had to drive with my head out the window when it would rain, Ahh, the good ole days.
