Just arrived was kind of hoping it would fit straight up into my carrera gt bodykit---as with everything body wise i was wrong and will require modding

Anyone know how the 944 turbo front bumper fits onto the car?? there are no brackets that i can see for the bumper mounts..

FYI the corner lip that meets the front fenders is at a deeper angle..options are to modify and cut the bumper or modify and cut the front fenders

A- bolts up to fender
B- has a reinforced lip making curvature slightly too much for stock front
C- No mounting brackets??--- surely this wasnt just bolted up on the fenders??

p.s Im gonna keep the side indicator (as opposed to filling it) and blacken it out will suit my cars colour scheme

thats exactly what i'm doing now !!
haha, what are the odds..

i have cut the fenders straight for the previous bumper...as the company who designed and produced the old bumper refused to modify the design...so i was forced to cut my fenders.
So now i'm going to mod the 951 bumper to fit the car.
The main problem is not the fender compatibillity ..but the difference in the radius right on the front pannel. You can see there is a gap because the 951 bumper is rounder.

Mine has some built in brackets that attach to the old 924NA supports.

Hey morghen do you have a pic of these brackets??

also does your tow hook fit through the hole??

The 951 bumper is rounder, it pops out in the middle..my plan is to put two bolts doen through my intercooler intake and into the supporting bar on the bumper to force it into shape.... will also use the two lower brackets in the pic to join to the front fenders......as for internal bracketry...mmm i need ideas

At the moment i'm at work and i cant see your pics (photobucket is blocked here) and i dont have pics of those brackets.
but i'll try to take a couple of pics when i get home.

i think you cant force it into shape...you need to cut and mod it into shape.
i've seen the 951 bumper on a 924 without mods or forcing into place and it does not look bad at all...its a member's car

i have not decided yet what i'm going to do...mod it to flush fit the 924...or leave it as it is(as you can see the picture below)

Morghen your photobucket pic isn't coming through. Do you have a pic of that mount ?

I'll either just leave it with a little protrusion in the middle as is or drill out the rivets in the top support bar, heat and bend it slightly then reattach

old link maybe..
this is a member's car..it is a 924 turbo with 951 nose and cgt back.
he did not mod anything..he just kept it as it is.
doesnt look bad to me...i think i'm going for this option...and later on i'm going for another nose pannel.

Ok that looks good, I see exactly what he's done, he's filled the top rivet holes and although the middle bit still protrudes the striping hides it well. My sides still don't align perfectly though, need some more cutting and sanding of the flares. Should have the bumper completed and in high build primer by Tuesday to Thursday afternoon

Are you going for clear or orange indicators? Think we need orange here in aus. Also the fog light lenses are about$120 each just for the lens, crazy

i have the orange ones, i'm keeping them...but i dont have the fog lights..i'll be searching for those in spring.
i'm not in a hurry...i'm still thinking of a way to solve this nose radius problem.

i hope our coleague doesnt mind me using his car for a photoshop mockup.
if so...i will take it down as soon as we are done with this subject.
you can see my plans for the bumper in the pics below.

i've just noticed that there is a small difference between our bumpers, mine has that lower OEM lip/extension included in its body and it is rounded while yours just ends with a sharp edge at its bottom. Mine is a FG copy..i guess yours is OEM ?

951 bumper has a sub bracket that would probably be benifical to have. There is one on ebay right now, bumper and bracket as a set for 150

Problem solved!!

1- drill out 6 to 8 rivets
2- use heat and force on reinforcement aluminum bar to semi straighten
3- refit and re rivet

No more lip in the middle and corners no longer bend in:)

Anyone have a pic of the mounting brackets

Might be easier to extend the nose cone to fill the rounded gap.
The way my GT front clip way mounted was very similar to the stock bumper, two flanges that sat either side of the solid mount (top and bottom) these were just thick FG about 6mm.
I had 4 x M6 bolts through the top lip into the body sheet metal at the front of the spoiler and 3 x M6 on each side attaching to the quarter panels.
I also made 2 aluminum angle mounts that tied the lower sides to the stock radiator support brackets too, this helps keep the front clip looking symmetrical.
hope this may give you some ideas. I believe part of the lower mounts for the 951 spoiler also incorporates an underbelly tray that ties to the lower crossmember.
Stu
