Here's a question ,has or do you know of any 924 owners who have fitted a tow hitch ,to a 924 ?
further in the event the answer is yes, then
1/ where is the best place to mount it.
2/what is its pulling capacity.
3/ any pics or links available ?

Yes, got it from e-bay and it's mounted behind the bumper and forward to the rear jacking points. I'd have to check the rating.

As requested:

Had to trim 1.5" off the bumper but it's not a problem.

hmmm.... i would love one as i am partial to a bit of caravaning.
I remember that on eBay Rich, about 12 months ago. I'm not sure it would work with my 951 rear spoiler though.

Rockauto.com sells them for just under USD$300.
I don't think you need to cut anything with their one but it does connect to the bumper and chassis if I recall correctly.

The free trailer I was getting never materialized so I don't know yet!!

I do know a chap who used to recover cheap 924s with a car trailer behind his 924... completely illegally but never had a problem, apart from lack of power and brakes!!

You need a trailer with a compression coupling and its own brakes i guess.
But you can't exceed 3500kg in the UK even with a self braking trailer.

thanks for that,i am making my own hitch so i think i have it worked out now,
i wont need to cut the bumper.
i reckon i should get away with mounting it to the bumper, bottom of spare wheel holder and final braces on outer chassis rails.
will find out today,i have it partially made.
will post pics as i progress.

The official UK version from Porsche mounts like that but I didn't like them, it looks very lashed up!

The other advantage of a towball is no one will park too close...
