Her Majesty (Sovereign and supreme Royal highness of the United Kingdom)...
Well her new Government wants to set us free

LOOK> ---- http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/

And they want to know what laws we want shot of...
here are a few responses. http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/repealing-unnecessary-laws/all_ideas

I wondered what daft laws you have in your countries that you would reprieve if you could. Also, if your country has changed any laws and regretted it.

Get rid of the dumb 24hour drinking law, its just not British (bring back the old UK alcohol licensing laws.... only serve booze between 11am-3pm/7pm-11pm)

EDIT: Although abolish the national speed limit is the obvious one

So, things are looking up in the old country. Finally.
We've been trudging down the nanny state path for far too long.

I can't really think of any laws that need to go, off hand.
Although they should enforce the right to relieve your self on the side of a taxi cab. Which i believe is still a law, although pretty much forgotten now. Most people have puked on a taxi, usually on the inside. But how many people know you can pee on them too?

Mis use of anti terrorism laws need to be reformed asap. I have been on the receiving end of this and have read some pretty scary stories of similar Police actions. Freedom!!?? we don't have it with this sort of mis use

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/officers-claim-they-dont-need-law-to-stop-photographer-taking-pictures-2012827.html

We have more surveillance cameras per square metre than any other country.

Yes we are a strange land. We still have some silly laws though.

A pregnant woman has the right to pee in a policeman's helmet.

Homosexuality is legal but sodomy is illegal; work that one out.

And It is your duty to report the sighting of a Grey Squirrel (if it enters your garden) to the local Police

I recall a story from about 30 years ago in Oregon. A guy killed his wife in cold blood. It went to trial and his lawyer quoted a law that said a man owns his wife and farm animals and could dispose of them as he sees fit.......or something like that. He got off on the murder conviction, but the old law from the 1800's was changed shortly thereafter.

Canada has some great laws.......regarding equality.......women are permitted to legally go topless in public....just like men. Few women exercise that right......except for a certain lady that kept doing it at a public pool in the town she lived in. There were some complaints......from other women at the pool with their young children.....oddly the men were more understanding of their duty to permit her to exercise her equal rights as a Canadian.

So 9XX Girl how did Britain become a police state ? Why did people allow the govt to become what I angrily call "Do Gooders or bleeding hearts" ? Nothing is worse that someone telling you what's good for you and then making rules to force you to conform.

You have probably guessed I have little respect for authority unless it's earned. No doubt I'd make a good case study of a cranky old guy.

This is just a start in our wonderful US of A

Racine, Wisconsin

Missiles may not be shot at parade participants.

It is illegal to wake a fireman when he is asleep.

Women may not walk down a public street at night without being accompanied by a man.
^ This one isn't such a bad idea these days.

Sun Prairie, Wisconsin

Nuclear weapons may not be manufactured in the city limits.

Persons may not ride a bicycle with their hands off the handlebars.

Cats are forbidden from entering cemeteries.

Kenosha, Wisconsin

It is illegal for a man to be aroused in public.
^ try being a teenage boy in that town when the wind blows hard

Hmmmm.... I don't think there are any laws here to stop me popping my jugs out. We do have laws on indecent exposure but not nudity. There are beaches here in Cornwall where we sunbathe topless although it is more common in Europe. The Brits are a little more stuck up about it than the rest of the main continent.

Americans are even more frosty about it. They don't even have topless models in their daily newspapers.

simple, that Blair bloke, giving more benefits to the middle classes than the poor. He bought his support and popularity, bankrupting the country in the meantime... (it's a very complicated political system here, its not a case of who gets the most votes,) loopy right wing Evangelist... bloody do gooders,.. declaring war in the name of God, while filling his boots. Creating an environment of fear and then capitalizing on it. Well.... my take on it is... we are all gonna be judged someday, and there is no fooling the man upstairs. So i just keep on keeping on and don't worry on it.

Blair conned a lot of people without them knowing it. After he got into power, the first thing he did was to abolish Clause 4 of the Labour Party Constitution (the only identifier that they were a socialist party). Then he jumped into bed with Bush (Bleeding Master Mind)

I think it's fair to say that American Society is quite juvenile where sex and nudity are concerned. They even blank out womens breasts on TV.

Think back to the Jackson outrage for showing a nipple for a microsecond during a performance on TV during the superbowl. Which I missed. It makes my point quite nicely.

Some woman don't have any decernable breasts. This indicates to me that breasts might be optional equipment.
