If I bring up the revs in neutral I can hear the turbo spool up all the way to 7 psi. Is that normal? _________________ 1982 Porsche 924 Turbo |

Mine doesn't, has to be under a load. Your car might be burning too rich. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

Are you sure it's spooling up to 7 PSI? Or are you just hearing the turbo whine? At what RPM? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I can get mine spinning at 5+ with a little rythmic revving. _________________ Toofah King Bad

If you go from idle to flat out it might briefly spool but it needs load to sustain boost. _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

My turbo doesn't produce any boost in neutral, although you can still hear it whistle.
I'm fairly certain that most turbos shouldn't produce boost without a load unless something is a miss in the engine parameters, or with the help of spark cut. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

Not sure about neutral... but it's a very concerning moment when it spools up in reverse! I did that on my Audi 200T when wanting to back up about 50-70 meters on a I pier! Let me tell you it's not fun under boost esp with water on both sides of you. _________________ 1980 Turbo
