So I took the plunge after reading about this on this forum and decided to buy the newer sunvisors off the late '80's 924/944.
They fit with no modification......there is a hidden mirror on both sun visors and they are made of firmer material than the saggy originals in my 1981 931. Price was very reasonable and there seems to be a ready supply of these on e-bay.
This is a no brainer.....definately well worth the effort.

No no no, I'm pretty sure your statute of limitations has ran out and you have to sell them to me now, otherwise they'll explode upon installation...

Ahhh yes....the ultra rare air-bag equipped sun visors.
