hey guys,i havent been here in a while. my project 924 has been keeping me busy.
my dashboard is in horrible condition and i was going trough some of the topics here. one guy was using this thing called EXAPNDAFOAM and it worked awesome.
the problem i have is I am from the states and i cant find this EXPANDAFOAM anywhere, or anything like it.
can anyone tell me where can i purchase some of this miracle working foam, or if there is something similar to that in the states.
any help would be appreciated. i am at a dead end so any ideas would help.
from what i read in this guy's tread, once the foam cures it feels like soft balsa wood and really easy to cut and sand into any shape.
P.S. i tried using some insulation foam, available in any home improvement store, and needless to say that was a waste of time and money. |

Check the builders merchants or similer outlets. There may be a product used to fill in gaps around doors, windows, holes in walls that is a spray foam from a can. There is a long needle about 1/4 incn dia.
This is what we on this side of the pond know as expanding foam.
Hope this helps and good luck. |

| yeah i tried the regular expanding foam that is used here for insulation and joint sealing. but ir blows up too much and creates air pocket insude and it looses it consistency |

That's definitely an adults only interior, but then there are some adults I wouldn't want in there either.
Very nice interior! _________________ 1980 Turbo

so im just about ready to finish up my dash, but the one thing thats bugging me is when you guys upholster the dash with let say vinyl do you spray upholstery glue everywhere or just around the edges. also once is done, how do you protect from the sun and the heat.
i hope i get some ideas here soon, because i cant wait to get this done and IN |

I used contact cement. I brushed it on in order to ensure total coverage. I brushed it everywhere. Take you time and do it right, the corner can be a real PITA especially the corner next to the gauge cluster. _________________ 1980 924 NA
